Harold Frederick Plackemeier

Harold Frederick Plackemeier, age 81, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 at North Kansas City Hospital.

Harold was born July 22, 1928 at Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Edwin H. and Lydia M. (Krohne) Plackemeier. He was a graduate of Carrollton High School and the University of Missouri. He served in the United States Army Signal Corps during the Korean War.

On November 21, 1959 he married Pauline Kruse at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne, Missouri. She survives at the home. Harold and Pauline celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on November 22, 2009.

Harold was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad for seventeen years and was a farmer south of Carrollton. He was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne, serving in various positions. He rang the church bells for many years. He also served on the Wakenda Township Board, was a member of the Carrollton Lions Club, the Norborne Memorial American Legion Post # 551, and the RAO.

Harold is survived by two sons, Richard Plackemeier and wife, Jennifer, Kansas City, Missouri, Roger Plackemeier, St. Louis, Missouri, two grandsons, John Plackemeier and Thomas Plackemeier.

His parents and one brother, Kenneth Plackemeier, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Norborne, Missouri, with Pastor Kim Scharff officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.

Visitation was held from 6-8:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2010 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

The family suggests contributions be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or Carroll County Senior Center in memory of Harold. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.
